Shoshi Oren was born in 1947 in Israel, served in the Israeli Army and
then attended the Art Teachers College. Upon graduation, she moved to
New York where she lived for six years. When she returned from the
United States, Shoshi continued to study art, while working full-time
and raising her three children.
Several years ago, she began to focus her efforts on sculpting,
studying with sculptor Smadar Fink. Later on, she joined "The Israeli
Sculptors' Workshop" under the leadership of Harry Baron, in which she
is still a member today.
At first, Shoshi sculpted in clay. Today, she sculpts mostly in wax
using natural materials from all over the world and casts her
sculptures in Bronze. Her work represents unique situations and
surprising encounters between elements of diverse worlds.
Her sculptures are found in private and corporate collections, worldwide.
